Conference on Learning and Teaching Mathematics 2016
You are cordially invited to the 3rd international Conference on Learning and Teaching Mathematics, which will be taking place on 16 and 17 November 2016 at Brdo Congress Centre in Brdo near Kranj.
The conference is intended for classroom teachers, mathematics teachers in primary and secondary schools, and experts in mathematics education.
The primary purpose of the conference remains to present new and original approaches to learning and teaching mathematics along the entire vertical and for all educational programmes.
Contents:
- Geometry for Today and Tomorrow You are invited to prepare papers which would present various approaches to discussing geometry and developing geometry concepts; build a bridge between school practice and theory; highlight the neuralgic points in understanding geometry concepts; and demonstrate successful practices and the role of technology in learning and teaching geometry contents.
- Supporting Student’s Learning of Mathematics You are invited to prepare papers on the approaches and forms; on the work of vertical working groups; on didactic solutions for diverse groups of students; on creating a stimulating learning environment; on the importance of prior knowledge, of feedback, of co-creating objectives and success criteria for learning mathematics, and of self-assessment and other forms of knowledge assessment.
- From Mathematical Literacy to Cross-Curricular Integration You are invited to prepare papers on developing not only mathematical literacy, but also reading, financial, digital, science and other types of literacy as a starting point for solving mathematical problems and for cross-curricular integration.
The conference will be held in the form of plenary lectures with invited speakers, workshops and presentations.

Side programme: Presentation of scientific and research work in the field of mathematics education; the competition “Famous Mathematician GOTTFRIED WILHELM LEIBNIZ INSPIRES Creation and Research”
Important dates:
Deadline for submitting a paper in the form of an extended abstract: 12 September 2016
Deadline for giving feedback to the authors: 14 October 2016
Deadline for registering for the conference 15 September 2016 or until places are available
There is no participation fee for the conference.
